Hit The Books: A Handy Guide for You on How To Prepare for Final Exams

By: Samantha Brierley, Staff
Next week , students at Sage will be taking their fall 2011 semester final exams. Finals are seen as a time of stress and anxiety, especially for those who have taken heavy course loads and challenging classes. However, if you manage your time right and set time aside each night to study, then taking these exams should go smoothly. In this article, I’ve given a handy guide on how you can ace those finals and get a great GPA at the end of this semester!
Exam tip number 1
Study, study study!
I know that it probably sounds cliché but taking the time out to study is a must! Try to take an hour each night to study for your material. This should help because it is not a long period of time and you’re not cramming in the material. On the weekends, study extra hard instead of going out and socializing; you have all winter break to do that!

Exam tip number 2
Get some rest!
Getting your 8 hours of sleep in a night is a must! More sleep leads to better concentration so you can ace that Bio exam!

Exam tip number 3
Eat healthy
Eating healthy boosts your brain activity. You’ll be able to concentrate and think more clearly. You’ll also feel positive because eating good, healthy food such as fruits and veggies boosts serotonin, your body’s natural “feel-good” hormone.

Remember that the Office of Academic Support will be hosting a Final Exam Study Tip Session on Thursday, December 8 and Monday, December 12 from 3:30-4:40 p.m. at Hart Hall on the Russell Sage College campus.
