        Earth day is an event that inspires awareness and appreciation for the earth’s natural environment. Earth Day was founded by United States Senator Gaylord Nelson and is celebrated in over 175 countries every year. Its main focus is on environmental issues and many countries actually celebrate earth week. Earth Day or Earth Week was established to take the time out to appreciate and bring about awareness as to the good and natural parts of the environment.

            Russell Sage College has participated in Earth Day for many years. Each year the city of Troy also holds an Earth Day Clean Up project. This year Russell Sage will be participating in the Clean Up Project on April 20^th from 10-12 pm. Everyone will meet in Sage Park at 9:45 am and will focus on the cleaning up the streets around our campus.
