Troy, NY- On Tuesday, September 28 Russell Sage’s own Elizabeth Brundage will be reading from her new novel, A Stranger Like You, published by Viking. The reading will be held in Bush Memorial at 7:30 pm until 9:00 pm. Afterward, the M.O.S.S. Bookstore will be hosting a reception and book signing.
The premise of the novel is that Hugh Waters, the main character and a wannabe screenwriter, ends up kidnapping Hedda Chase, a film studio executive who has canceled the production of his movie.
The New York Post placed A Stranger Like You on its “Required Reading” list and Cleavland.com, an online newspaper, gave Brundage’s new novel an ‘A.’ Cleavland.com went on to say, “Brundage is an astonishing writer — some passages are as claustrophobic as Chase’s imprisonment.”
Elizabeth Brundage, who is originally from Williamstown, MA, now lives in Albany, NY. She labels herself as a self-employed author, but also teaches creative writing at Russell Sage College. Her creative writing courses alternate focuses between fiction and poetry. She provides a personable and down-to-earth approach to writing and as one of her former students; I highly recommend taking one of her course. Apart from Brundage’s current novel, she also published two other acclaimed works, including The Doctor’s Wife and Somebody Else’s Daughter.
