Towards the end of the semester we all get a little antsy, nervous, cranky, and stressed. The biggest cause of all that stress is Finals. Each and every one of u knows they are coming, but every semester they still seem to sneak up on us. As we start to prepare for them we become more and more stressed out.

The positive side to all this stress is that Russell Sage tries their best to make campus a stress free zone. They do this by accommodating us with activities to keep our minds off the upcoming Finals. 3 common events on the Sage campus are therapy dogs, 11th hour pancakes, and a movie night.

This year we get to have all 3. Yes, the Therapy Dogs will be back and they will be located in the Kellas Fishbowl from 12pm – 3pm on Saturday December 10th. There will be lots of food and also raffles. Make sure you take a break and come to the Fish Bowl; first 40 students get a free 2012 pet calendar.

While you’re taking some time out to visit the cute pups, make it a weekend event and attend the Campus Scream 3 on Sunday December 11th at 11pm. Grab a friend and head over to Mckinstry Dining hall because immediately after 11th Hour Pancakes will start. DON’T MISS OUT!

For more information please contact Mike Washco at washcm@sage.edu.

As seniors at Russell Sage College, we know they are many traditions we must be a part of. One of these traditions being World – 420, which we may just think of as a class but even so it sets out to help those in need and gain awareness about important issues. This year in one of the World 420 sections there is the creation of a book titled A Recipe for Change.

This book is being created to bring about awareness of homelessness and all the good times and common interest’s people share over a meal. It will detail many recipes and stories of different people and their relationship to those recipes.

Not only this but there are also T-shirts being sold in support of homelessness awareness and putting an end to homelessness. To get involved, you can simply buy a T-shirt to promote the cause. T-shirts are $10 and are being sold by the World – 420 class themselves. T-shirts will be sold around campus and in the community. For more information and for an order form please contact Christine Nealon at nealoc@sage.edu. Don’t miss out on a great opportunity to share your recipe for change and promote the cause!

The Sage Colleges has made themselves dedicated to promoting a healthy, comfortable, and safe atmosphere for all students and faculty. With this in mind, Sage has decided to go tobacco free. Due to a high volume of health hazards Sage will be tobacco free starting January 1, 2012.

If you visit www.sage.edu/tobacco you can see that it clearly states that “This policy covers tobacco of any kind, including the use of smokeless or “spit” tobacco and applies to all employees, students and visitors of The Sage Colleges”. The use of any tobacco product is also prohibited from any Sage Vehicle or outdoor areas which follow the New York State Clean Indoor Air Act. This is to keep all campus ground smoke free and safe for all who are passing by. Sage is keeping their word in promoting health and safety for all of the Sage community.
