SPORTS: Welcoming The (Mrs.) King To Athletics
As part of a continued effort to expand and better publicize Sage Athletics, Sage recently hired Ann King, a renowned sports information director (SID) with 23 years of experience.
King, Sage’s first-ever full-time SID has been successful thus far in her career; in 2006, she became the College Division’s only female honoree into the College Sports Information Director’s of America (CoSIDA) Hall of Fame and was also award the Warren Berg Award (which is given to the nation’s top college division SID) in 2003.
“Convincing Ann King to come to Sage is nothing short of us hitting the lottery. She is one of the most talented, highly-regarded Sports Information Directors in the country. We are thrilled to have her join our staff and look forward to the energy and experience she will inject into our program.”
King has wasted no time getting to work; she has already updated the Sage Athletics website, announced many athletic events, created new player profile sheets, and released numerous press releases. However, in my opinion, the coolest thing King has done thus far is created “Gator Bites,” an online weekly report featuring Gators of the Week, highlights from the athletic events in that particular week, season statistics and honors, as well as upcoming events. You can check out this week’s edition of Gator Bites at www.sagegators.com, under more news on the home page.
On behalf of the entire Sage community, I would like to extend a warm welcome to Ann King, as our new SID.
