Steppin’ it UP

Troy, NY- The first Step Team ever at the Sage Colleges is on the Russell Sage Campus.  The team was formed in spring 2010 and consists of 6 members. It is an open club for Russell Sage and Sage of Albany students. There are no auditions for the team and students can join at anytime. A step team is a group that uses their hands and feet to tell a story in a beat format. Step team is a mixture of African, hip hop and drill team rolled into one. Step team has two forms including stepping and dance.  It is all about creativity and showing who you really are.
